Conner's twin brother, Eric McKnight, the airhead who flunked out of the Wind Academy, was chosen by a new evil, Orgoth (descendant of Aku), to become an evil Ranger. Thanks to him, his intelligence increased tenfold, right after fighting off some Kelzaks. After being taken and corrupted, his personality became almost like Shane's. When they found out Eric's brother Connor became a Power Ranger, Eric, Tally and Kyle's hatred intensified enough for them to accept Orgoth's offer, the former with them screaming in rage as they were taken.
After becoming the Gold Ranger, Kyle became one of the most formidable opponents the Ninja Storm Rangers ever faced, easily defeating all six of them. The trio also overpowered the Dino Thunder Rangers. They thought no one could handle them. But they hadn't counted on two new Ninja Storm Rangers; Marah and Kapri, the Orange and Pink Wind Rangers. They fought the two with all their might, but the twins managed to beat them before the other Ninja Storm Rangers and the Dino Thunder Rangers recovered and finished them off. Not only were they defeated, but Orgoth's evil spell on Eric, Tally and Kyle was broken. The reformed trio, remorseful for what they did, apologized to the Rangers. Sensei Kanoi informed Eric, Tally and Kyle how he was actually impressed with their skills as Rangers, despite how they were corrupted. He informed them that they were no longer dropouts, but graduates, giving them each a Ninja Storm Morpher of their own, Morphers that look just like the ones Orgoth gave him, but 100% pure good. Feeling ecstatic, Eric and his friends accepted, becoming Ninja Storm Rangers.
Most of his ninja abilities are just like those of Naruto Uzumaki (specifically, when he uses orange chakra).
